What will happen to my mother?
I am very angry. I live in New Jersey with my mother and my sister. My mother was arrested for driving drunk the night earlier and was in jail for a short period. Only had a couple of drinks, but was not super drunk. She had been invited to a party, she left early because she said she was out of control and everybody was totally drunk. She left, but I stopped. Is screwed for not taking the breathalyzer test and his car was towed. Am I in prison? Help if you have a good lawyer? if so, how about it?

If the driver is convicted of a San Diego California DUI and has a minor under 14 in the vehicle, then enhanced penalties may be imposed based on a judge’s interpretation of DUI evidence. Mandatory jail time is regulated between 48 hours and 90 days.

What is the proper way to make a Personal Injury claim?
My wife was rear-ended at a stop light. Our company paid for the auto to be repaired and said they will subrogate against the others insurance carrier. It has been three weeks now and we haven’t heard anything from that insurance company. They (the others ins.co.) do have a copy of the accident report. I believe there is no question of liability because the other driver was arrested for DUI at the scene of the accident.
My wife has had several doctors appointments and has been in pain since the accident. Should we call the ins. co. to make a claim? Or should we get an attorney to do that? Or should we just wait and keep good track of our medical bills that we expect them to pay? I understand we have a 3 yr. limit in Washington State to file a suit against the other driver.

My wife is on probation for a DUI in Texas. Is there anyway she can leave the state for a week?
I won a sales competition and my company is sending us to Hawaii. It is a big deal for my career, but we are not sure if the probation officer will let her go. Is there anything our lawyer can do?
Well… start with the P.O. He may just allow her to go so long as she is not going to miss scheduled meetings, classes, breath tests etc.
Your lawyer may need to Petition the Court for an exception to the terms of her probation. It is not guaranteed…. especially for a vacation or other unnecessary trip…. but such permission is commonly granted if there is a good reason/ need to leave the state.
