Hired a lawyer,the charges were dismissed by the court and prosecutor.Dui and a small felony, anyway after court i was expecting to sign or receive some paper proof from the court (chicago).Is this the new age of court procedure? Well, I know that here in D.C. they overhauled the record keeping system a while ago (actually, not to change the subject, but my boyfriend had a gun felony that got lost in the system during the transition, and now all computer records show that the case has been “dismissed” when he actually never went to court for it, lol). But I would assume that the court system is keeping its records electronically. And they usually don’t give you any paperwork unless you have to continue to slave for the state (meaning, that you still have probation, jail time over your head, community service, etc). Otherwise you may not recieve any paper that graduates you out of the system like a diploma, lol. But, if you feel uncomfortable, you can call down to the court house and get a copy of your criminal record. The record WILL reflect what happened at court. That’s what I did for my boyfriend, so that way if they ever try to come back and make him face the gun charges, we can always whip out the paper and say, “Nope, it’s been dismissed!”
