DISABILITY PROCESSES INFO?

i was involved in a motorcycle accident in 12/31/07 it left me disabled my right leg does not bend im 21 now im at the end of my run i did apply for disability and was denied i am going to appeal to a court date i am still waiting for….. my girl friend is going to represent me shes not a lawyer should i get a lawyer i am really disabled any help is great appreciated my location is long island new york

It will be nearly impossible for you to prove a disability unless you have lots of medical evidence,stating that your condition will last a year or longer .the only people i know who had a easy time getting their disability approved where the ones who were Bi-Polar.i don’t know why the courts will give you a almost instant approval for that mental condition.my husband has been mentally and physically unable to work for a long time know,but because he went to work 2 days for his uncle and drawed unemployment he has been denied many times.believe me in lots of cases a lawyer isn’t much help either
