Changes of DWI lowered?
My son got arrested and charged with a DWI. He blew a .12 but did very well on his field sobriety test. We hired one of the best DWI attorneys in the area (Austin, TX). My son is 20, currently attends UT Austin (which is a very competitive, excellent university), is in a fraternity, has a job, and has no prior arrests.
What are his chances of getting his charged lowered to a lesser charge? i.e. “reckless driving”
I know it depends on a case by case basis, the judge, the state, etc., but do you think he has a chance? If not, why even hire an attorney?
“Legit” please explain…”No.” is not a LEGIT answer. I’ve known a lot of people to get their lowered, so please explain.
