First time DUI in California (Ventura County)?

I have a DUI the other night and had a 0.17 blood alcohol. What should I expect? Do I really need a lawyer or just plead guilty and focus on my life? Time to jail for that? THX in advance for the help …

Consult an attorney. I had a DUI (one!) Several years ago, and my Atty. said if I had not double the limit that could have delayed a ruling obtained. And the activity board of alcohol, attend classes, do the time (which, for the first offense can do on the weekends or evenings after work), and to pay fines or have to obtain a court order. Do not hire Atty., Just visit and will probably just say to plead guilty. If you try to bring to trial, the most likely lose and pay only $ 1000 in office. Just go through all their hoops, keep your nose clean, do what the courts say, and in six months can get your full license back. And do not break probation! I know someone who did this and had the book thrown at them a lot worse than it would have been if we had only kept your nose clean. I hope I helped somehow.
