My wife is on probation for a DUI in Texas. Is there anyway she can leave the state for a week?
I won a sales competition and my company is sending us to Hawaii. It is a big deal for my career, but we are not sure if the probation officer will let her go. Is there anything our lawyer can do?
Well… start with the P.O. He may just allow her to go so long as she is not going to miss scheduled meetings, classes, breath tests etc.
Your lawyer may need to Petition the Court for an exception to the terms of her probation. It is not guaranteed…. especially for a vacation or other unnecessary trip…. but such permission is commonly granted if there is a good reason/ need to leave the state.
