hello i would like to know if i can achieve law school?

hello, i was writing this question to ask whether or not i could acheive entry to law schools. im an junior undergrad at midwestern nazarene university in kansas. I have acheived a 3.7 gpa in criminal justice and have scored a 145 on the LSAT. whereas I know that my lsat is pretty low for the best schools, i was hoping my higher gpa (3.7) would balance it out. in fact, i was checking the numbers and 3.7 seems to be an acceptable number for harvard admission. so here are my questions;

1) can I acheive entry to the following law schools:

harvard
duke
cornell
texas
University of Kansas

if not, how can i improve my chances

my next question deals with the lsat

2) how bad is the lsat? I know my score is slightly below average, which is actually pretty good because most people taking are going to be lawyers anyway so i’ll be an “average” lawyer.

thanks very much!

You are going to have major problems getting into ANY law school, and those schools are completely out of the question.

There are several things that you need to get into a law school like Harvard.

1. GPA is very important. While your 3.7 GPA is nice — every single person who was accepted by Harvard last year had a higher GPA.

2. LSAT is very important. The lowest LSAT for accepted applicants at Harvard last year was 170.

3. Quality of undergraduate institution is important. You have two problems there. The first is that the school you go to is one of the least selective universities in the US. It is also a fourth tier regional university — which is one of the lowest rankings you can get. In addition, you don’t even seem to know the name of the university that you attend. It is MidAmerica Nazarine University — not Midwestern Nazarine

The site below lists the lowest LSAT score by school. Here are the lowest LSAT scores for those accepted to the schools you mention:

Harvard: 170
Duke: 167
Cornell: 166
Texas: 163
Kansas: 155

The only schools on the list that will accept someone with a 145 are Thomas M Cooley, NC-Central and Southern University.

Unless you bring up your LSAT score, I don’t really see you getting into any law school that people will respect. You may want to consider taking an LSAT review class and retaking the exam. If you can bring it up into the mid 150s, then you have a shot at a respectable law school.

I’m afraid that no matter what you do, you have no shot at any elite law school.
