What education is needed to become a Lawyer in SC?
I have already taken many classes in Criminal Law and I am thinking of going back into it. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it took, education wise, to bulid a career as a lawyer in the state of SC?
You need to have a Bachelor’s Degree – Criminal Justice is just fine, as is Education, Philosophy, Nursing, or just about anything else.
Then you need to take the LSAT and get accepted by an ABA [American Bar Association] accredited law school. In South Carolina I think USC is the only one. However, there are plenty of other law schools throughout the USA.
Graduate from law school, pass the SC bar examination, get hired as a prosecutor somewhere, even if in some rural area, and after a few years go out on your own.
Good luck to you
